SENIOR DOWNSIZING & MOVING CLEANOUT SERVICES
Last Updated: August 23, 2026 · By Trystan Hayes & Dylan Thacker
Downsizing a home — whether it's a parent moving to assisted living, or you're helping a loved one transition to a smaller space — is rarely just about the stuff. It's about decades of belongings, hard decisions, and doing right by someone you care about. We've helped enough families through this to know the job isn't just hauling furniture. It's being patient while people figure out what stays, what goes to family, what gets donated, and what simply needs to go.
HOW WE APPROACH A DOWNSIZING JOB
- We follow your sorting, not ours. If you need time to go through a closet before we touch it, we wait.
- We separate loads on request — donation-bound items kept apart from what's being discarded, if that helps your process.
- We coordinate with movers or estate sale companies if you're using them, so nothing gets hauled that should've stayed.
- We disconnect appliances safely — our crew includes an experienced plumber, so the washer, dryer, or fridge staying behind gets disconnected properly.
WHAT'S TYPICALLY INVOLVED
| Situation | What We Handle |
|---|---|
| Moving to assisted living | Furniture and belongings not moving with them |
| Downsizing to a smaller home | Excess furniture, duplicate items, appliances |
| Clearing a home after a move | Final cleanout once the family has taken what they want |
WHAT IT COSTS
Pricing follows the same volume-based structure as any cleanout — typically $165–$650 for a single room or partial home, and $650 per truckload for a full-home downsizing project. We'll walk the space (or review photos) and give you a real number before anything is scheduled.
A FEW THINGS FAMILIES ASK US
Can you come back for a second load? Yes — many downsizing projects happen in stages as a family works through a home. We're happy to schedule multiple visits.
What if we're not sure what we want to keep yet? That's normal. Take the time you need — we're flexible on scheduling and won't rush the process.
