Most haulers will not touch an appliance that is still hooked up. They tell you to hire a plumber or an electrician first, which is another appointment and another bill before anyone hauls anything.
Our crew includes an experienced plumber. We disconnect it and take it — one visit, one price.
Send a photo of the appliance and, if you can, the hookup behind it. We will tell you the price and whether it needs a disconnect.
Water, drain and gas lines are shut off and capped by our own plumber. Hard-wired electrical gets the power shut off and a temporary cap until your electrician finishes it.
Out of the basement, up the stairs, through the tight doorway. You do not lift or manoeuvre anything.
This is the actual difference. An experienced plumber is on the crew, so gas lines get capped and water lines get shut off properly — no separate contractor, no second appointment.
Basement water heaters, second-floor washers, refrigerators that will not fit back through the doorway they came in. That is routine for us.
Working appliances go to donation where we can place them. The rest go to appliance recycling, including proper handling of refrigerant-containing units.
Many towns charge two stickers per appliance and require you to schedule the pickup and get it to the curb yourself. If you have several, or cannot move them, we are usually the simpler call.
If you have a single appliance, you can get it to the curb yourself, and your town takes it with a sticker, that is genuinely cheaper than hiring us — often a few dollars against our $75 minimum. We would rather tell you that than take the job. Where we earn our keep is when the appliance is still connected, is in a basement or upstairs, when there are several of them, or when you need it gone today.
| Job | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Single appliance, curbside | $75 – $125 |
| Single appliance, needs disconnect | $100 – $175 |
| Two or three appliances | $165 – $325 |
| Full kitchen or laundry set | $325 – $490 |
Priced by volume and weight, not by the hour. Text a photo to (708) 832-6504 and you get a firm number before we show up — not a range that grows on the invoice.
Yes. Co-owner Dylan Thacker is an experienced plumber. Water lines, drains and gas lines are shut off and capped by us on the same visit, not by a subcontractor you book separately. For hard-wired appliances we shut off the power and put a temporary cap on the line; an electrician should finish that line later.
Yes. Units containing refrigerant go to appliance recycling that handles them properly rather than to general waste.
That is routine. Basement water heaters, cellar freezers and second-floor washers are a normal part of the job — you do not need to move anything first.
Yes, and we would rather see them reused. Working appliances go to donation where we can place them.
For one appliance you can move to the curb yourself, usually yes — and we will say so. Hiring us makes sense when it is still hooked up, hard to move, there are several, or you need it gone today.
